Aqua Duck Swim Trial - 13 Aug 08 (8/10)

This is the 1st time we brought out gal for a trial class – which is the swimming class with Aqua Duck! Coz she loves water when bathing, so we thought of bringing her for a trial swim for a try…

Aqua Duck is really popular.  We actually wanted to sign up her for a weekend class but then it’s fully booked till end of the year! They have to put my gal on waiting list, and they told me that the waiting list is long! Those who called in Jan/Feb this year is still on waiting list, oh mine!  So we decided to sign her for a free trial instead…even then, the trial class has to be on weekdays coz no vacancy on weekends.  So Vincent and I took leave on this day, 13 Aug 08 (Wed), to bring her for a try.  It’s at the Tanglin Village, located just beside the St. James Church Kindergarten (where I attended my kindergarten 20++ years ago!) which is at Dempsey Road.

The trial lesson started at 11am and the ‘kiasu’ us scared we could not find the way, was there at about 10.30am.  Both ‘Ah Ma’ and ‘Po Po’ also went coz they want to see their dear granddaughter in the water..haha…The weather started to turn a bit hot but still ok and the water in the pool turned to be warmer than expected, which is good as it will then not be too cold for the kids.

My gal was excited at first and enjoyed for the first 5 mins, but then she started to cry…seemed to be a bit shocked coz this is the 1st time she’s in a pool with the babies as well.  She’s the youngest among the kids but after crying for a while looking for me, she started to get back to momentum.  The coach is Anna and she’s pretty good.  She can engage the kids into action, not only leaving to the parents to hold the kids.  Nursery rhymes were sung to engage the kids into action in the water and she also took turn to hold the baby to go into water.  At first, we were thinking will that be ok…but she is experienced and did it well.  From the trial lesson, it can be seen that the lesson is well-structured, ie. they will know what to do and complete in each lesson.

The lesson ended exactly in 30 mins which I think would be just nice for babies as my gal started to get a bit tired.  As I am pregnant, I missed the fun being with her in the water, so Papa was the one with her.  Think she missed me being with her in the water, the moment she is up, she wanted me and clinged on me and did not want others..haha!

On the whole, I think the lesson is good.  We really would like to sign up with them but unfortunately, their weekend classes are full, so we have to source for other alternatives for the time being.
