Sports Lifestyle Initiatives Swim Trial - 24 Aug 08 (6/10)

As AquaDuck’s weekend swimming class is full, we have decided to source for another alternative.  We tried a few schools but most of them do not have any classes for babies.  We managed to find three schools, Swimfast Aquatic Club, Marsden Swim School (owned by Australians) & Sports Lifestyle Initiatives Pte Ltd(Singapore).  For Swimfast Aquatic Club, their classes are conducted at Yishun Safra Club and only at 4pm so not very suitable for us.  As for Marsden Swim School (owned by Australians), their weekend classes are full again and have to be put on waitlist.  Only Sports Lifestyle Initiatives Pte Ltd (Singapore) currently has an on-going programme for babies, which they called the “The Baby Puffer Fish 1 & 2 (6 to 24 months old)" swimming programme”.  Hence we decided to go for a trial lesson with Sports Lifestyle Initiatives Pte Ltd (Singapore) on 24 Aug 08(lessons are held at the Admiralty Club swimming pool), which was a Sunday.

The water was super cold that day coz it rained heavily the night before.  She was ok initially but after about 10 mins, she started to cry coz I think the water was too cold for her. There are 4 swimming coaches that day and they started off by having the ‘London bridge is falling down’ song and they made a ‘bridge’ using one blue rubber hose( I think).  The coaches are young and as compared to the coach from the AquaDuck, they lacked of experiences in handling the babies.  However they are still ok lah…just that they do not handle the babies, like holding them and put them under water, as compared to the coach from AquaDuck.  On the whole, their swimming lesson seemed to be less structured but we still signed on with them for the swimming lessons as there’s not much choice left.  Hopefully, AquaDuck will have a space for our gal soon and we will switch to that once there’s vacancy for us.
